Terms of Service Privacy Policy Refund Policy

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the DS Client Portal WordPress plugin (“Plugin”, “Product”) provided by DS Client Portal (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Plugin, you agree to these Terms.

1. License Grant

DS Client Portal is available in two editions:

  • Free — Available on WordPress.org. Includes core portal features (tasks, files, OTP login, branding). No license key required. May be used on unlimited domains.
  • Pro — 1 Site — Use on one (1) domain. Available as an Annual subscription or a Lifetime (one-time) purchase. Adds invoicing, webhooks, full white-label, and advanced notifications.
  • Pro — 5 Sites — Use on up to five (5) domains. Available as Annual or Lifetime. Same Pro features as the 1 Site tier.
  • Pro — Unlimited — Use on unlimited domains. Available as Annual or Lifetime. Same Pro features as the other tiers.

Each Pro license tier specifies the maximum number of domains it covers. Lifetime licenses include updates for the lifetime of the product. Annual licenses include updates and support for the duration of the active subscription. The free edition may be used without restriction.

2. Permitted Use

You may:

  • Install and use the Plugin on the licensed number of WordPress websites.
  • Create backups of the Plugin for your own archival purposes.
  • Modify the Plugin’s source code for your own personal use on licensed sites.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, lease, sublicense, or give away the Plugin or any part of it.
  • Share your license key with others or use it on more domains than permitted.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or branding from the Plugin.
  • Use the Plugin in a way that competes with or replicates our product offering.
  • Publish or make publicly available the Plugin’s source code.

4. Updates & Support

  • Free edition receives updates through WordPress.org. Community support only.
  • Pro Lifetime licenses (1 Site, 5 Sites, or Unlimited) receive updates for the lifetime of the product. “Lifetime” means the commercial lifetime of the Plugin — the period during which we actively develop and distribute it.
  • Pro Annual licenses (1 Site, 5 Sites, or Unlimited) receive updates and priority support for the duration of the active subscription. After expiration, Pro features remain active but the plugin no longer receives updates or support. You may continue using the free-tier features indefinitely.

We are not obligated to provide updates on any specific schedule. We may release updates at our discretion.

5. Ownership

The Plugin is licensed, not sold. We retain all ownership rights, including intellectual property rights, to the Plugin and its source code. Your purchase grants a license to use the Plugin — it does not transfer ownership.

6. Payments

All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. By purchasing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy’s terms of service. Prices are in US dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy based on your location.

7. Subscription Renewal

Annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Lemon Squeezy account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Plugin is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every WordPress configuration.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, data, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Plugin. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Plugin in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining backups of your WordPress site and data.
  • Ensuring your hosting environment meets the Plugin’s requirements (WordPress 6.0+, PHP 7.4+).
  • Keeping your license key confidential.
  • Any data entered into the Plugin by you or your clients.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the Plugin and remove it from all sites. Termination does not entitle you to a refund beyond the terms of our Refund Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Plugin after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DS Client Portal (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and Plugin.

1. Information We Collect

When you purchase the Plugin:

  • Name and email address (via Lemon Squeezy checkout).
  • Payment information (processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy — we do not store credit card details).
  • License key and activation data (domain URL where the Plugin is activated).

When you use our website:

  • Basic analytics data (page views, referrer) if analytics are enabled.
  • Information you voluntarily provide through support requests or contact forms.

When you use the Plugin:

  • The Plugin communicates with our licensing server to validate license keys and check for updates. This sends your domain URL and license key.
  • The Plugin does not collect, transmit, or share any data from your WordPress site, your clients, or your portal content. All portal data (tasks, files, invoices, comments, user information) is stored exclusively in your own WordPress database and file system.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • License management — To activate, validate, and manage your license.
  • Product updates — To deliver plugin updates to your site.
  • Support — To respond to your support requests.
  • Communication — To send important product announcements, such as security updates or major releases. We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.

3. Data Your Plugin Handles

When you use the Plugin on your WordPress site, it stores data on your server:

  • Client account information (name, email, avatar).
  • Tasks, comments, and file attachments.
  • Invoices and line items.
  • OTP login codes (temporary, auto-deleted after 15 minutes).
  • Uploaded files (stored securely in a private directory on your server).

This data never leaves your server. We have no access to it. You are the data controller for any personal data your clients provide through the portal. It is your responsibility to handle this data in compliance with applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR) and to maintain your own privacy policy for your clients.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Lemon Squeezy — Processes payments, manages subscriptions, and handles licensing. See Lemon Squeezy’s Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Account and license data is retained for as long as your license is active, plus a reasonable period for record-keeping and support purposes.
  • Support correspondence is retained for up to 2 years after the last interaction.
  • Portal data on your server is retained until you delete it. Deactivating or uninstalling the Plugin does not automatically delete data from your database.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Payments are handled securely by Lemon Squeezy. License communications use HTTPS. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address listed below.

8. Cookies

Our website may use essential cookies for basic functionality (e.g., remembering form state). The Plugin itself uses standard WordPress cookies for user authentication sessions. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Plugin and website are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. We offer a straightforward refund policy:

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with the Plugin for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase date. No questions asked.

How to Request a Refund

  • Contact us via email with your order number or the email address used for purchase.
  • Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy and typically arrive within 5–10 business days.
  • Upon refund, your license will be deactivated and you must remove the Plugin from your site(s).

After 14 Days

Refunds after the 14-day period are granted at our discretion, typically in cases of significant technical issues that we are unable to resolve. We encourage you to reach out to support before requesting a refund — we’re usually able to help.

Annual Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your annual subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges but does not provide a prorated refund for the remaining period. You retain access to updates and support until the end of your current billing cycle.
